Job summary

Exodus Foundation in Sydney’s Ashfield area is seeking a passionate Chef to join Crews Café on a casual basis. You will take ownership of day-to-day food preparation and café service, bringing fresh ideas and ensuring food is simple, delicious, and made with care.

You’ll work with staff and volunteers in a welcoming community setting, contributing to menu development, seasonal use of donated produce, and a positive dining experience for everyone who walks through our doors.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in a commercial kitchen or cafe environment.
• Ability to manage a small kitchen at pace.
• Strong teamwork and communication with volunteers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food for daily café service.
• Create and rotate daily and weekly specials.
• Develop and refresh menu with simple, tasty offerings for the community.
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen per food safety rules.
• Manage stock levels and minimise food waste.
