Job summary

The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation is seeking a passionate Chef to join Crews Café in Ashfield, Sydney. You will own day-to-day food preparation and café service, delivering simple, tasty meals using seasonal and donated produce within a community-focused kitchen.

You’ll shape the menu with fresh ideas, rotate daily specials, and work with staff and volunteers to ensure a welcoming, dignified experience for every person who walks through our doors. This is a casual, 12–20 hour per week position.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a small kitchen.
• Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to create fresh ideas and practical menus from available produce.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food for daily café service.
• Create and rotate daily and weekly specials.
• Help develop and implement a refreshed menu suited to the community.
• Bring fresh ideas to the kitchen and continually improve the food offering.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized kitchen complying with food safety requirements.
• Manage stock levels and minimise food waste.
