Job summary

Anglicare Sydney is seeking a Cafe Chef for Castle Hill Village, casual, Mon-Fri, to cover planned leave and peak Christmas demand. You will oversee daily cafe operations, prepare high-quality meals, and work with the Food & Beverage Manager to maintain quality and a welcoming dining experience for residents and guests.

You will lead by example, ensure food safety and HACCP compliance, and deliver excellent customer service in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Commercial Cookery Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• 2–3 years' experience within hospitality, catering or food service environments.
• 2–3 years’ of experience in food preparation, kitchen operations and menu planning skills.
• Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) certification.
• Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene and HACCP requirements.
• Strong English literacy both spoken and written.
• RSA (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present high-quality meals and café items.
• Ensure food is prepared and served to a high standard.
• Support planning and delivery of café services and functions.

Your Opportunity

Food PreparationandService Delivery

• Prepare, cook and present high-quality meals, café items and catering orders

• Ensure food is prepared and served to a consistently high standard

• Support the planning and delivery of café services and functions

Kitchen OperationsandQuality

• Support menu planning and seasonal menu updates

• Monitor food quality, storage, preparation and handling procedures

• Ensure stock levels are maintained and participate in stocktakes

• Maintain efficient kitchen operations and workflow processes

Customer Experience

• Deliver excellent customer service to residents, visitors and guests

• Assist in promoting café services and supporting customer satisfaction initiatives

CollaborationandTeam Support

• Lead by example and contribute to a positive team culture

• Work collaboratively with kitchen, hospitality and village teams

SafetyandCompliance

• Maintain food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards in line with HACCP requirements

• Follow workplace health and safety policies and procedures and report hazards

• Ensure equipment, workstations and food preparation areas are maintained safely and professionally

What You'll Bring

You are a passionate and customer-focused Chef who enjoys creating quality food and delivering memorable dining experiences.

What's Required
