Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Switchboard Technician to perform startup, commissioning, testing and maintenance of large-scale LV switchboards for data center projects. You'll carry out site works, diagnostics and preventative maintenance while ensuring safety and compliance.

Role involves on-site tasks, liaison with clients and teams, and occasional remote travel. A valid electrical license, White card and Australian driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted electrical license mandatory.
• White card (construction induction) required.
• Australian Driver's license essential.
• Experience with LV switchgear and control systems.
• Proven troubleshooting, flash testing and fault-finding abilities.
• Familiar with test documentation and safety procedures.
• Experience with client factory/site acceptance tests.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of site works on LV switchgear panels (3200-6200A 415Vac).
• Commissioning, testing and handover to customers for data center projects.
• Investigate site issues and perform necessary repairs.
• Carry out preventative maintenance on LV switchgear (ACBs/MCCBs).
• Prepare tools, test equipment and site documentation.
• Communicate with clients, subcontractors and Vertiv teams.
• Ensure safe working practices on-site and WHS compliance.
• Some remote travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivery of project site works on LV switchgear panels (3200-6200A 415Vac) - Commissioning, testing and handover to customers over multiple industrial projects with main focus on DATACENTERS
• Investigation of site issues/breakdowns with view to carrying out repairs as necessary.
• Completion of preventative maintenance tasks for all aspects of LV switchgear panels. (ACBs-MCCBs)
• Preparation of all tools, test equipment and site documentation for project/maintenance activities.
• Communication and interface with clients, sub-contractors and various internal Vertiv departments to ensure timely progress and meet project/contract milestones.
• Liaise with department internal procurement for any additional material requirements/manufacturing needs to close out defect lists.
• Management of site related paperwork, ensuring documentation is signed off by all relevant parties and uploaded to client portals in a timely manner.
• Responsibility for safe working practices on-site and ensuring all relevant WHS procedures are adhered to.
• Some remote travel may be required.

Qualification & Experience:

• Unrestricted electrical license mandatory
• White card
• Australian Driver's license
• Working knowledge of Electrical Drawings/Control Systems
• Experience in Troubleshooting, flash testing, LV Switchgear and Protection devices
• Familiar with all aspects of electrical panel testing & fault finding
• Competency in primary & secondary injection testing
• Good understanding of safe isolation and electrical safety
• Familiar with maintaining accurate and detailed completion of test documentation
• Experience with Client Factory Acceptance Tests / Site Acceptance Tests
