Job summary

Vertiv Group Corporation is seeking a field-based technician to carry out startup, commissioning, testing and maintenance of large-scale LV switchboards on data center projects. Work is primarily on-site with travel to sites as required.

The role requires an unrestricted electrical licence, a White card and a valid driver’s licence. You will engage with clients, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure safe, timely delivery and quality documentation.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with procurement for materials and manufacturing needs to close defect lists.
• Manage site paperwork and ensure sign-off and portal uploads.

Job description

Position Summary

The purpose of this position is to carry out all aspects of the startup, commissioning, testing and maintenance of large-scale industrial LV switchboards.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivery of project site works on LV switchgear panels (3200-6200A 415Vac) - Commissioning, testing and handover to customers over multiple industrial projects with main focus on DATACENTERS
• Investigation of site issues/breakdowns with view to carrying out repairs as necessary.
• Completion of preventative maintenance tasks for all aspects of LV switchgear panels. (ACBs-MCCBs)
• Preparation of all tools, test equipment and site documentation for project/maintenance activities.
• Communication and interface with clients, sub-contractors and various internal Vertiv departments to ensure timely progress and meet project/contract milestones.
• Liaise with department internal procurement for any additional material requirements/manufacturing needs to close out defect lists.
• Management of site related paperwork, ensuring documentation is signed off by all relevant parties and uploaded to client portals in a timely manner.
• Responsibility for safe working practices on-site and ensuring all relevant WHS procedures are adhered to.
• Some remote travel may be required.

Education/Qualification:

• Working knowledge of Electrical Drawings/Control Systems

• Experience in the use of product specific Software

Practical Experience:

• Familiar with all aspects of electrical panel testing & fault finding
• Competency in primary & secondary injection testing
• Competency in flash testing
• Good working knowledge of LV Switchgear and Protection devices
• Good understanding of safe isolation and electrical safety
• Familiar with maintaining accurate and detailed completion of test documentation
• Experience with Client Factory Acceptance Tests / Site Acceptance Tests
• Fully flexible to work additional hours on request
• This is a site-based role and majority of work time will be based on-site or travelling
