Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Commissioning Technician - Power to lead end-to-end commissioning of UPS and STS units for large-scale, mission-critical environments, including Tier 1 Data Centres. You will own the commissioning cycle from start to finish, work on landmark projects, and travel to various sites.

The role offers hands-on technical work, ongoing training, and the chance to broaden expertise across Vertiv technologies while building strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• State-based unrestricted electrical licence is required.
• Electrical Trade Certificate is required.
• Formal Electronics Qualification is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Technical knowledge in data centres, telecom, commercial & industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Time Sheets - Digital reporting tool to be used to accurately record hours worked each day.
• Commissioning/Service Reports - to be completed within set timeframes.
• Proactively communicate project progress and any site issues to the Project Manager & Service Operations Manager.
• Own the commissioning process from start to finish - lead the full commissioning cycle across Vertiv's UPS & STS units.
• Work on landmark projects - perform L2, L3, and L4 commissioning tasks on Tier 1 Data Centre sites.
• Broaden your expertise - support the Service Team with maintenance and time & material works.
• Be the face of Vertiv - build trusted relationships with customers through professional interactions.
• Never stop growing - access ongoing training across multiple Vertiv technologies.

Key Responsibilities

You'll lead the full commissioning cycle across Vertiv's complete range of UPS & STS units, delivering critical infrastructure that keeps the world's most important facilities running.

Work on landmark projects -

Carry out L2, L3, and L4 commissioning tasks alongside experienced Vertiv Project & Commissioning Managers. If you've previously worked on Tier 1 Data Centre sites, you'll feel right at home here.

Broaden your expertise -

This isn't a one-dimensional role. You'll also support the Service Team with maintenance and time & material works, giving you exposure across the full asset lifecycle.

Daily Work Duties and expectations:

Travel to various sites, includingremote locations, requiring a validDriver's Licence.

Undertakeovernight or extended travelas project demands require.

Safely navigate and work withinconfined, tight, and restricted spaces.

Working on and around Energised Electrical equipment,adhering strictly to safety protocols.

Undertakemanual handling tasks, including lifting, carrying, and relocating equipment and components in accordance with WHS guidelines.

Education/Qualification:

State-based Unrestricted Electrical Licence

Electrical Trade Certificate.

Formal Electronics Qualification whilst not mandatory, will be highly regarded.

Technical knowledge in data centres, telecom, commercial & industrial or similar industries.

Proven track record within the Critical Power Industry as a commissioning/service technician.

Proven ability to work effectively under timeline constraints on large scale sites.

Solid understanding of Controls & Networking.
