Job summary

Vertiv Group Corporation is seeking a ThePower Customer Engineer (Technician) – Commissioning to lead end-to-end commissioning of UPS and STS units in APAC ANZ. The role involves delivering high-quality commissioning services across large-scale, mission-critical environments, including Tier 1 Data Centres.

You will own the commissioning cycle, collaborate with project managers, and support the service team with maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• Electrical Trade Certificate is required.
• Mandatory: State-based Unrestricted Electrical Licence.
• Experience in data centre commissioning and critical power environments.
• Strong safety/WH&S knowledge and practices.

Responsibilities

• Own the commissioning process from start to finish across UPS & STS units.
• Lead full commissioning cycle on large-scale sites, including Tier 1 data centres.

Position Summary/Objectives of Incumbent:

ThePower Customer Engineer (Technician) – Commissioningis a critical technical role within theGlobal Service – APAC ANZdivision, you will be responsible for the end-to-end commissioning ofUninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS)andStatic Transfer Switch (STS)units. This role is at the forefront of delivering high-quality commissioning services across large-scale, mission-critical environments, includingTier 1 Data Centres.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Reporting:

• Time Sheets - Digital reporting tool to be used to accurately record hours worked each day.
• Commissioning/Service Reports - to be completed within set timeframes
• Proactively communicate project progress and any site issues to the Project Manager & Service Operations Manager.

Operational Delivery:

• Own the commissioning process from start to finish -You'll lead the full commissioning cycle across Vertiv's complete range of UPS & STS units, delivering critical infrastructure that keeps the world's most important facilities running.
• Work on landmark projects -Carry out L2, L3, and L4 commissioning tasks alongside experienced Vertiv Project & Commissioning Managers. If you've previously worked on Tier 1 Data Centre sites, you'll feel right at home here.
• Broaden your expertise -This isn't a one-dimensional role. You'll also support the Service Team with maintenance and time & material works, giving you exposure across the full asset lifecycle.

Daily Work Duties and expectations:

• Travel to various sites, includingremote locations, requiring a validDriver's Licence.
• Undertakeovernight or extended travelas project demands require.
• Safely navigate and work withinconfined, tight, and restricted spaces.
• Working on and around Energised Electrical equipment,adhering strictly to safety protocols.
• Undertakemanual handling tasks, including lifting, carrying, and relocating equipment and components in accordance with WHS guidelines.

Education/Qualification:

• Electrical Trade Certificate.
• Formal Electronics Qualification whilst not mandatory, will be highly regarded.
• Mandatory: Relevant State-based Unrestricted Electrical Licence.

Specialist Knowledge:

• Technical knowledge in data centres, telecom, commercial & industrial or similar industries.

Practical Experience:

• Proven track record within the Critical Power Industry as a commissioning/service technician.
• Proven ability to work effectively under timeline constraints on large scale sites.
• Solid understanding of Controls & Networking.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
