Job summary

Vertiv Australia seeks a Commissioning Technician - Power to lead end-to-end commissioning of UPS and STS units for large-scale, mission-critical environments, including Tier 1 Data Centres.

You will travel to sites, perform L2-L4 commissioning activities, and collaborate with project and service teams. A state electrical licence and trade certificate are required, with a track record in the critical power sector.

Qualifications

• Must hold an unrestricted electrical licence valid in the state.
• Electrical trade certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Experience with critical power systems and data centres preferred.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and site practices.
• Proven ability to manage commissioning timelines on large sites.

Responsibilities

• Own the full commissioning cycle for UPS & STS units from start to finish.
• Record hours daily using digital time sheets and generate reports.
• Prepare and submit commissioning/service reports within set timeframes.
• Communicate project progress and site issues to PM and Service Ops.
• Travel to multiple sites, including remote locations, with valid licence.
• Support maintenance and time & material works as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Time Sheets - Digital reporting tool to be used to accurately record hours worked each day.

Commissioning/Service Reports - to be completed within set timeframes

Proactively communicate project progress and any site issues to the Project Manager & Service Operations Manager.

Own the commissioning process from start to finish -

You'll lead the full commissioning cycle across Vertiv's complete range of UPS & STS units, delivering critical infrastructure that keeps the world's most important facilities running.

Work on landmark projects -

Carry out L2, L3, and L4 commissioning tasks alongside experienced Vertiv Project & Commissioning Managers. If you've previously worked on Tier 1 Data Centre sites, you'll feel right at home here.

Broaden your expertise -

This isn't a one-dimensional role. You'll also support the Service Team with maintenance and time & material works, giving you exposure across the full asset lifecycle.

Daily Work Duties and expectations:

Travel to various sites, includingremote locations, requiring a validDriver's Licence.

Undertakeovernight or extended travelas project demands require.

Safely navigate and work withinconfined, tight, and restricted spaces.

Working on and around Energised Electrical equipment,adhering strictly to safety protocols.

Undertakemanual handling tasks, including lifting, carrying, and relocating equipment and components in accordance with WHS guidelines.

Education/Qualification:

State-based Unrestricted Electrical Licence

Electrical Trade Certificate.

Formal Electronics Qualification whilst not mandatory, will be highly regarded.

Technical knowledge in data centres, telecom, commercial & industrial or similar industries.

Proven track record within the Critical Power Industry as a commissioning/service technician.

Proven ability to work effectively under timeline constraints on large scale sites.

Solid understanding of Controls & Networking.
