Job summary

Coca Chu Restaurant on Hamilton Island is seeking a qualified Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. This role offers a great opportunity for a developing chef with an interest in Asian cuisine to strengthen skills working with vibrant flavours, fresh produce and fast-paced à la carte service alongside an experienced culinary brigade.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (Essential).
• Previous experience working in a commercial à la carte restaurant kitchen.
• Experience with Southeast Asian or Asian cuisine highly regarded.
• Familiarity with Asian cooking techniques, ingredients, sauces and flavour combinations.
• Experience with wok cooking, stir-frying or other Asian hot-section cooking highly regarded.
• Ability to follow recipes, preparation methods and presentation standards consistently.

Responsibilities

• You'll work hands-on across preparation and service, supporting your section and senior chefs in delivering Coca Chu's Southeast Asian-inspired menu.
