Delaware North Australia is hiring casual Commis Chefs to join our Melbourne Airport kitchen. You will work with senior chefs to prepare dishes, follow recipes, and present plates to a high standard.

The role emphasizes hygiene, temperature checks, and cross-contamination control within a fast-paced environment. Qualifications

• Previous Commis Chef experience is required.
• Solid background in kitchen operations.
• Demonstrated ability to meet food and labour cost targets.

Responsabilités

• Prepare a variety of dishes in a high-volume production setting.
• Follow recipes for menu preparation and ensure adherence to cooking guidelines and standards.
• Execute food preparation tasks with a focus on presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area.
• Conduct temperature and quality checks and manage cross-contamination to ensure WHS compliance.

As a Commis Chef, you will be responsible for collaborating with senior chefs to create dishes that make a lasting impression. What will you do?

• Prepare a variety of dishes in a high-volume production setting
• Follow recipes for menu preparation, ensuring adherence to cooking guidelines and standards
• Execute food preparation tasks with a focus on presentation
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area
• Conduct temperature and quality checks, manage cross-contamination to ensure WHS compliance

More About You

• Previous Commis Chef experience, required
• Minimum Level 3 Certificate in Commercial Cookery
• Solid background in kitchen operations
• Demonstrated track record meeting financial targets for food and labour costs
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including early morning breakfast shifts and evening dinner service, is essential
