Job summary

Delaware North Australia at Melbourne Airport is seeking a casual Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. You will support high-volume production, focusing on pizzas and pastas, and contribute to consistent presentation and quality.

Candidates should have Level 3 Commercial Cookery and solid kitchen operations experience, with flexibility for rotating rosters, early mornings, and dinner shifts in a fast-paced environment.

• Previous Commis Chef experience, required.
• Demonstrated experience preparing high-quality pizza and pasta dishes.
• Minimum Level 3 Certificate in Commercial Cookery.
• Solid background in kitchen operations.
• Demonstrated track record meeting financial targets for food and labour costs.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including early morning breakfast shifts and evening dinner service, is essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of dishes in a high-volume production setting.
• Follow recipes for menu preparation, ensuring adherence to cooking guidelines and standards.
• Execute food preparation tasks with a focus on presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area.
• Conduct temperature and quality checks, manage cross-contamination to ensure WHS compliance.
