Job summary

Delaware North Australia is hiring casual Commis Chefs to join our team on-site at the Adelaide Airport. Collaborate with senior chefs to create dishes that impress guests in a high-volume production kitchen.

You’ll follow recipes, present food to a high standard, and uphold stringent food safety and hygiene practices. We offer flexible shifts, development opportunities, and perks like discounted food and beverage, an Airport ASIC pass, and access to a global network of venues.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Commis Chef is required and proven experience in an a' la carte restaurant or function service is preferred.
• Solid background in kitchen operations and a passion for food.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a range of dishes in a high-volume production setting
• Follow recipes for menu preparation, ensuring adherence to cooking guidelines and standards
• Execute food preparation tasks, showcasing expertise in food presentation
• Maintain consistent cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area
• Ensure HACCP and WHS compliance, including temperature and quality checks and cross-contamination control

What will you do?

• Prepare a range of dishes in a high-volume production setting
• Follow recipes for menu preparation, ensuring adherence to cooking guidelines and standards
• Execute food preparation tasks, showcasing expertise in food presentation
• Maintain consistent cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area
• Ensure HACCP and WHS compliance, displaying a strong commitment to meeting Food Safety standards including conducting temperature and quality checks and effectively managing cross-contamination

More About You

• Previous experience as a Commis Chef is required and proven experience in an a' la carte restaurant or function service is preferred
• Solid background in kitchen operations
• Minimum Level 3 Certificate in Commercial Cookery and a Food Safety certificate, or willing to obtain at onboarding
• A passion for food and creative flair
• Demonstrated track record meeting financial targets for food and labor costs
