qualia is a private luxury resort on Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays. We are seeking a motivated Commis Chef to join our culinary team, supporting high-end, seasonal menus across Pebble Beach and The Long Pavilion.

This hands-on role emphasizes quality, teamwork, and a passion for refined Australian cuisine. As a full-time opportunity, you will have access to HI College training, staff perks, and subsidised furnished accommodation, enabling you to grow within Hamilton Island’s premium

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (Essential).
• 1–2 years of experience in a luxury or high-end restaurant (preferred).
• Understanding of refined plating, station maintenance, and HACCP procedures.
• Passion for quality ingredients, modern Australian cuisine, and sustainability.
• Ability to work a flexible roster including nights, weekends, and event service.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and service high-end, seasonal menus across venues Pebble Beach and The Long Pavilion.
• Rotate through kitchen sections to develop culinary skills in á la carte and degustation formats.
• Maintain a clean, well-organised section during service and follow plating guides.
• Uphold food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards across the kitchen.
• Support junior team members and assist with training when required.
