The ibis Styles Brisbane Elizabeth Street is seeking a passionate and reliable Full-time Commis Chef to join our energetic kitchen team. You will prepare and present high-quality breakfast, lunch, dinner, and conference catering while maintaining a clean, hygienic work environment.

You'll work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays, and contribute to stock control and waste reduction. Join our vibrant Accor team and grow your culinary skills in a busy hotel setting.

Qualifications

• Full Australian Working Rights - this role is not available for sponsorship.
• Trade qualification in Cookery.
• Experience in a similar role, preferably within a hotel environment.
• Detail-focused with the ability to deliver consistently high-quality food under pressure.
• Energetic and proactive with enthusiasm to develop your culinary expertise.
• A team player who easily builds rapport with colleagues and guests alike.
• Time management skills with the ability to multitask.
• Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels of team members.
• Flexible availability to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present high-quality dishes across breakfast buffet, à la carte lunch and dinner and conference catering.
• Support daily operations and take initiative when working independently.
• Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment, ensure mise en place is ready and uphold food safety standards.
• Follow strict stock rotation procedures, minimise wastage, and assist with stock control.
• Equipment care and cleanliness, with issues reported to the Executive Chef.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold a Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience, and show strong teamwork, flexibility, and a commitment to delivering memorable guest experiences aligned with the ibis Styles brand.
