Job summary

Hamilton Island Enterprises in Queensland is seeking passionate Commis Chefs to join our diverse culinary teams across the island. You will support food preparation and service in restaurants, cafes and event venues while developing your skills in a fast-paced kitchen.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification (Essential).
• Experience in a hotel, restaurant or reputable commercial kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to shifts (mornings/evenings/weekends/holidays).

Responsibilities

Your Role

As a Commis Chef, you'll work alongside experienced culinary professionals to deliver consistently high standards of food quality and presentation. You'll support food preparation and service across our restaurants, cafes and event venues while developing your skills in a fast-paced and supportive kitchen environment.

• Assist with stock rotation, storage and waste management.

To Be Successful, You Will Need:

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification (Essential).
• Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant or reputable commercial kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements.
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work varied shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Valid working rights in Australia for a minimum of six months.
• Open Australian driver licence preferred for some roles.
