Job summary

Panthers Penrith Leagues Club is seeking a Commis Chef to support Kelly’s Kitchen with quality dish preparation and presentation. You’ll report to the Outlet Sous Chef and work with an energetic team to maintain high standards of food safety and presentation.

The role requires minimum two years’ experience post-apprenticeship, a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, and a current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate. Flexibility across shifts including mornings, nights and weekends is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years’ post-apprenticeship experience as a Chef in a busy kitchen.
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
• Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to flexible shifts and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present quality dishes in a busy, multi-outlet kitchen.
• Complete daily preparation for allocated section within Kelly’s Kitchen.
• Use a range of cooking equipment and techniques, including grills and fryers.
• Prepare mise en place under the direction of the Outlet Chef.
• Maintain a clean, organised and well-presented kitchen throughout and after service.
• Check food deliveries and store products safely in FIFO order.
• Complete daily cleaning checks to maintain a safe, hygienic workplace.
