Job summary

Marriott International's Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Gold Coast is seeking a part-time Cook to join the five-star kitchen team. You will work across multiple kitchen areas, including a la carte, buffet, cold larder, mis-en-place and banquets, contributing to high-quality dining experiences.

Ideal candidates bring a Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery, experience in large kitchens, and a passion for cooking. Flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (CDP higher qualification if applicable).
• Experience in large, fast-paced kitchen environments.
• Passion for cooking and delivering quality dishes.
• Calm under pressure with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Flexible shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
• HACCP knowledge is desirable.

Job description

The Kitchen Department is responsible for producing high quality meals for all guests dining our Food & Beverage venues, including our Pearls Bar, Terraces Restaurant, Oasis Pool Bar, Oyster Bar, In Room Dining and Banquets. They are responsible for creating amazing dining experiences for our guests.

The Role

We are currently hiring for multiple roles across our Kitchen Team.

Cooks (PT)

As a member of our five star culinary team, you will work across several different areas of the kitchen including a la carte, buffet, cold larder, mis-en-place and banquets.

These roles are required to complete HACCP reporting, therefore the successful candidate must be prepared to develop and increase their knowledge in this field.

The successful candidate will be energetic and passionate about food and will be meticulous in producing high quality dishes that delight our guests and sees them return for more!

The Requirements

A Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or similar (higher qualification required for CDP role)

Previous experience in a large, fast-paced kitchen environment

A genuine passion for cooking

A proactive and enthusiastic approach to self-motivation and developing your culinary skills

Ability to remain calm under pressure and successfully manage multiple priorities

Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends and holiday periods.

Previous experience in HACCP Food Safety is desirable.
