Oaks Lake Crackenback Resort is looking for a passionate Commis Chef to join our kitchen team on a casual basis. This role supports the smooth operation of the kitchen, assisting with the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes and helping deliver an exceptional dining experience for guests.

Qualifications

• Relevant Certificate III in Cookery.
• Knowledge of Modern Australian Cuisine.
• Understanding of HACCP and Workplace Health and Safety (OH&S) requirements.
• Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic team environment.
• Flexibility to work across a range of shifts, including weekends.
• Ability to coach and motivate less experienced kitchen team members.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and presentation of dishes across all sections of the kitchen.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service and smooth operations.
• Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Take initiative to develop culinary skills and grow within a professional kitchen environment.
• Support less experienced team members when required.
