Tradewinds Hotels & Resorts – East Fremantle WA is seeking a passionate Commis Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. You will assist with preparation, cooking and presentation of dishes while learning across all kitchen operations.

Ideal candidates have a relevant culinary qualification or are working towards one, with previous kitchen experience and a desire to develop skills in a hotel/hospitality environment. We offer ongoing training, flexible rosters and a focus on work‑life balance.

About the Role

Working alongside our experienced culinary team, you will play an important role in delivering consistently high-quality dishes while developing your skills and knowledge across all aspects of kitchen operations.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Assist with the preparation, cooking and presentation of high-quality dishes.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Maintain consistency in food quality, presentation and portion control.
• Follow recipes, menu specifications and established kitchen standards.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
• Assist with stock rotation, food storage and minimising wastage.
• Support senior chefs with daily kitchen operations and food preparation.
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn, develop new skills and contribute positively to the team.

Ideally, you will have:

• A relevant culinary qualification or be working towards one.
• Previous experience in a professional kitchen, ideally within a hotel, restaurant or similar hospitality environment.
• A passion for cooking and a commitment to delivering quality dishes.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• An understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• The ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy kitchen.
• A flexible, reliable and team-focused approach.
