Job summary

ibis Mackay, part of Accor, is seeking a passionate Commis Chef to join our culinary team in a fast-paced kitchen serving TurBARlence Tavern, room service and conference spaces. You will play a key role in delivering a high-quality food experience, maintaining exceptional food standards and supporting the wider kitchen team.

Qualifications

• Previous chef experience in a busy kitchen.
• Relevant cookery or trade qualifications.
• Experience in a high-volume kitchen.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and HACCP.
• Able to work early mornings, weekends and public holidays.
• Full working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Maintain consistent food quality, presentation and portion control.
• Ensure stock rotation and minimise wastage.
• Prepare and ensure mis en place as required.
• Follow hotel and kitchen policies, procedures and standards.
• Provide menu and allergen information to the F&B team when required.
• Keep all working areas clean and tidy.

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Commis Chef to join our culinary team. Working in a fast-paced kitchen environment serving our TurBARlence Tavern, room service and conference spaces. You will play a key role in delivering a high-quality food experience, maintaining exceptional food standards and supporting the wider kitchen team.

Duties include (but not limited to):

• Maintain consistent food quality, presentation and portion control
• Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage
• Prepare and ensureavailability of mis en place as required
• Follow all hotel and kitchen policies, procedures and standards
• Provide accurate menu and allergen information to the Food and Beverage team when required
• Keeps all working areas clean and tidy
• Be familiar with other areas in the Kitchen so when called upon, assistance can be provided

Qualifications
