Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a financial analyst to provide analysis, reporting, forecasting and commercial insights that support key business decisions for an ASX-listed tech business.

The role covers monthly management reporting, budgeting and planning, and collaboration with finance and non-finance teams. Hybrid work in Melbourne CBD with strong emphasis on data-driven decision support.

Qualifications

• Prepare monthly management reports and executive reporting packs.

Provide financial analysis, reporting, forecasting and commercial insights that support key business decisions.

ASX-listed tech business based in the CBD.

Description

• Support the preparation of monthly management reports, financial performance analysis and executive reporting packs
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and planning processes across multiple business units
• Analyse financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, opportunities and key business drivers
• Partner with stakeholders across finance and non-finance teams to provide commercial insights and decision support
• Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions and business cases
• Perform variance analysis against budgets, forecasts and prior periods, providing commentary and recommendations
• Utilise ERP systems to extract, validate and analyse financial data
• Support month-end activities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping streamline reporting processes and enhance financial visibility across the business

Profile

• CA or CPA qualified (or close to completing)
• Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or related discipline
• First-time or second-time movers are encouraged to apply and will be highly regarded (business services/audit)
• Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting or performance analysis
• Advanced Excel skills with experience handling large data sets, financial modelling, and reporting
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to engage with stakeholders across the business
• Strong analytical mindset and approach to problem-solving tasks
• Understanding of how to translate financial data into meaningful business insights
