Job summary

MPAU Finance is seeking a skilled financial analyst to provide analysis, reporting, forecasting and commercial insights to support key business decisions. This role is part of an ASX-listed tech business in Melbourne's CBD and offers a hybrid work arrangement.

You will prepare monthly management reports, assist with budgeting and planning, and develop financial models for strategic initiatives. Strong Excel, ERP experience and a commercial mindset are essential to translate data into actionable

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualified (or close to completing).
• Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or related discipline.
• First-time or second-time movers encouraged (business services/audit).
• Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting or performance analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills with large data sets, modelling and reporting.
• Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement across the business.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Translate financial data into meaningful business insights.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of monthly management reports, financial performance analysis and executive reporting packs.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and planning across multiple business units.
• Analyse financial and operational data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Partner with finance and non-finance teams to provide commercial insights and decision support.
• Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives and business cases.
• Perform variance analysis against budgets and forecasts with commentary.
• Utilise ERP systems to extract, validate and analyse data.
• Support month-end activities ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial information.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of reporting processes and financial visibility.

• Support the preparation of monthly management reports, financial performance analysis and executive reporting packs
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and planning processes across multiple business units
• Analyse financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, opportunities and key business drivers
• Partner with stakeholders across finance and non-finance teams to provide commercial insights and decision support
• Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions and business cases
• Perform variance analysis against budgets, forecasts and prior periods, providing commentary and recommendations
• Utilise ERP systems to extract, validate and analyse financial data
• Support month-end activities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping streamline reporting processes and enhance financial visibility across the business

Profile

• CA or CPA qualified (or close to completing)
