Job summary

Cleanaway is seeking a commercially minded Commercial Analyst – Fleet to support a multi-million-dollar fleet portfolio. You will partner with Fleet, Finance and Operations to deliver financial models, scenarios and business cases that drive better commercial outcomes.

The role focuses on tracking initiatives, forecasting, budgeting and providing clear insights to leadership, enabling informed decisions across a national fleet. Strong Excel and data visualization skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial analysis, management accounting, FP&A or similar analytical role.
• Financial modelling skills including forecasting, business cases, scenario and variance analysis.
• Ability to turn complex data into clear commercial insights and actionable recommendations.
• Advanced Excel skills with large datasets; Power BI or data visualization experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Track strategic fleet initiatives with milestones, financial benefits, risks and forecast outcomes.
• Develop and maintain financial models to support business cases, forecasts and investment decisions.
• Analyse performance against budget and forecasts, identify drivers and variances, and recommend actions.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a commercially minded Commercial Analyst – Fleet to join Cleanaway and play an important role in supporting the performance of our national fleet.

Working closely with the Commercial Manager – Fleet, Heads of Fleet and Finance Manager, you’ll provide the modelling, analysis and insights behind a significant multi-million-dollar portfolio of strategic fleet initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Track strategic fleet initiatives, providing clear visibility of milestones, financial benefits, risks and forecast outcomes
• Develop and maintain financial models to support business cases, forecasts, investment decisions and scenario analysis
• Analyse performance against budget, forecasts and commitments, identifying key drivers, variances and areas requiring action
• Support budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning, including analysis of fleet costs, productivity, trends and opportunities
• Prepare commercially relevant reporting and financial analysis to support Fleet and Finance leadership
• Partner with stakeholders across Fleet, Finance, Operations and Procurement to validate information and drive better commercial outcomes

About you

You’ll bring

• Experience in commercial analysis, management accounting, commercial finance, FP&A or a similar analytical role
• Financial modelling skills, including forecasting, business cases, scenario and variance analysis
• Developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn complex data into clear commercial insights
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets, with Power BI or data visualisation experience advantageous
• Excellent attention to detail, commercial judgement and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders
• Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, Data Analytics or a related discipline; experience in fleet, transport, logistics or another asset-intensive environment will be highly regarded
