Byron Thomas Recruitment – Sydney Western Suburbs NSW is seeking Senior Collections Officers for a well-established financial services client. You will own an end-to-end portfolio of lending customers, handle arrears from first contact to resolution, and balance firm recovery outcomes with a professional, empathetic customer experience.

The role requires at least three years in collections, strong negotiation skills, and excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end portfolio of lending customers in arrears.

• Support recovery assets through valuation research, reserves, and disposal with partners.
• Keep records accurate for compliant decision making and meet recovery targets.

Our Client: Our client is a well-established financial services business within a respected global group. The Role: These are Senior Collections Officer roles with end-to-end ownership of a portfolio of lending customers.

You will manage accounts in arrears from first contact through to resolution, balancing firm recovery outcomes with a professional and empathetic customer experience. Manage an assigned portfolio of overdue accounts across phone, email and written channels Hold difficult conversations with composure, working towards practical and sustainable solutions

Negotiate repayments and arrangements, using sound judgement on the most effective recovery approach Escalate accounts to legal recovery action where appropriate, working with legal advisers, insolvency practitioners and trustees Support the management of recovered assets, including valuation research, reserve setting and disposal through vendor partners

Keep account records accurate and complete to support clear, compliant decision making Deliver against performance targets for recoveries and customer outcomes Identify and implement improvements to collections processes Candidate Requirements: You will be an experienced collections professional from a financial services or customer-facing environment who is confident managing complex accounts and takes ownership of results.

At least three years of experience in a collections or comparable role Proven ability to negotiate payment arrangements on challenging accounts Strong customer service skills and the ability to stay professional under pressure

Excellent written and verbal communication skills Sound problem solving skills and the ability to work independently in a target-driven team Collaborative approach with internal teams and external stakeholders Remuneration and Benefits: $85,000 base + super
