Job summary

Accor's Q Station on the edge of Sydney Harbour is seeking Casual Cooks to join a boutique kitchen team near Manly. You will prepare and serve food to recipe and presentation standards while maintaining HACCP-compliant hygiene and safety practices.

Work with the wider kitchen and Q Station teams to deliver a memorable guest experience, keep areas clean and tidy, and support Senior Chefs as needed. Flexibility for weekends and public holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Cook in a high-volume restaurant, hotel or banqueting venue.
• An understanding of food cost and waste management.
• Highly organised and able to work under pressure, with a calm and composed demeanour.
• Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-focused approach.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Experience in a similar role.
• A positive approach to work and good communication skills.
• An Australian driver's licence is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food to recipe and presentation standards.
• Maintain the highest standards of food safety and hygiene, in line with HACCP requirements.
• Monitor the quality of food served.
• Manage your time well during preparation and service.
• Work with the wider kitchen and Q Station teams to deliver a great guest experience.
• Thoroughly clean all items coming into the dishwasher and wash areas.
• Maintain sanitation and hygiene standards across the kitchen.
• Make sure dishwashing machinery is working efficiently, and store and handle all chemicals safely.
• Keep food and serving areas clean and tidy.
• Handle glassware, cutlery, crockery, pots and pans with care, and store them neatly and safely.
• Stack bottles, cardboard and paper in the correct storage areas, and operate the cardboard compactor safely.
• Assist the kitchen team and carry out other related duties as directed by Senior Chefs.
