Job summary

Barwon Coast is seeking a Facilities & Operations Officer to maintain caravan parks, reserves and coastal infrastructure across Ocean Grove, Barwon Heads, 13th Beach and Breamlea. This full-time role combines hands-on maintenance with strong guest service in a coastal setting.

You will work a 9-day fortnight on a rotating roster, including after-hours on-call duties to support peak seasons and public facilities while ensuring safety and high presentation standards.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance skills and the ability to safely operate plant and equipment used in caravan parks.
• Experience in identifying and resolving minor maintenance issues.
• Ability to identify customer needs, communicate professionally, and respond appropriately.
• Ability to work in a team and cooperatively toward outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking routine, preventative and reactive maintenance across caravan parks and coastal reserves.
• Maintaining public amenities, facilities and grounds to a high standard.
• Inspecting and maintaining beach access stairs, boardwalks, shelters, BBQs and public infrastructure.
• Responding to maintenance requests and public enquiries.
• Supporting peak season operations and ensuring a quality visitor experience.
• Providing friendly customer service to guests and assisting with their needs.
• Operating plant, equipment and vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Assisting with safety, compliance and emergency response activities.
• Participating in after-hours on-call arrangements.
