Job summary

ALS Coal – Emerald, QLD is seeking a reliable Coal Quality Tester to join our site team. The role supports coal sampling, sample preparation and laboratory testing to ensure accurate results for customers on a 12-hour rotating roster, including day and night shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

You will handle sampling, preparation, and testing for moisture, ash, sulphur and calorific value, while maintaining data integrity in LIMSHSE and complying with NATA and ALS procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform coal sampling in line with ALS and NATA procedures.
• Conduct sample preparation including crushing, splitting, drying and processing.
• Carry out laboratory testing for moisture, ash, sulphur, calorific value and other analyses.
• Operate and maintain lab equipment; enter results into LIMSHSE and ensure data integrity.
• Follow HSE procedures, complete JSA, and report hazards as required.
