Job description

Club Reception Host – (3 roles available)
Be the welcome people remember. Join our growth. Make a local difference.
Our business is growing, our venues are thriving and our team is expanding as a result of our continued success.

We’re looking for 3 warm, confident and customer-focused Part-Time Club Receptionist to join our front-of-house team and help create an exceptional first impression for every member and guest.

This is a customer service role for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people, building relationships and being part of a workplace with a strong connection to its local community.

We care for the community
“We care for the Shoalhaven, every person, every time, in everything we do.”

This is more than our mission, it is the heart of our brand and the reason our organisation exists.

Shoalhaven Ex-Services Group has a proud history of bringing people together and giving back to the community that supports us. Our success allows us to contribute to local initiatives that create meaningful and lasting impact across the Shoalhaven.

We’re proud to support:

  • SASSI and domestic and family violence support initiatives, helping local services assist individuals and families during difficult times.
  • Invictus and RSL initiatives, honouring our ex-service heritage and supporting veterans, current service personnel and their families.
  • Local sporting clubs and community organisations, through donations, sponsorships and practical support that encourage participation, connection and belonging.
  • Community programs and local causes that improve wellbeing and make the Shoalhaven a stronger place to live.

Across ExServos Nowra and Worrigee Sports, we create welcoming places where people can connect, celebrate, dine, play and belong.

As one of the first people our members and guests meet, you will be an important ambassador for our community brand. Every welcome you give, question you answer and positive experience you create contributes to our success, and strengthens our ability to continue giving back.

What’s in it for you?

We want our employees to feel welcomed, supported and recognised for the contribution they make.

When you join Shoalhaven Ex-Services Group, you’ll enjoy:

  • A permanent part-time position with the security of guaranteed minimum hours.
  • Competitive rates of pay, including applicable penalty rates and allowances.
  • A welcoming and inclusive team environment where people support one another.
  • Training and development to help you build your confidence, knowledge and customer service skills.
  • The opportunity to develop across a diverse hospitality group with two growing venues and a broad range of operations.
  • A rewards and recognition program featuring great awards for employees who make an outstanding contribution.
  • The opportunity to be recognised as Employee of the Year, with Royal Caribbean cruise prizes celebrating exceptional achievement.
  • A workplace where your contribution matters and great customer service is noticed and celebrated.
  • The satisfaction of working for a successful local organisation that reinvests in its people, venues and community.
Your role: Club Receptionist
Continued business success and a rapidly growing team have created an opportunity for a friendly and capable receptionist to join our front-of-house customer service team.

This is not a leadership position. It is a hands-on customer service role at the heart of our venue, where you’ll help members and guests feel recognised, informed and genuinely welcome.

You’ll be a friendly face at reception, a helpful voice on the phone and a reliable source of information about our venues, services, promotions and events.

No two shifts will be exactly the same. You may welcome a long-standing member, assist a first-time visitor, process a membership, answer an enquiry or help someone find the right area of the venue, all while providing calm, professional and attentive service.

What you’ll do
  • Welcome members and guests with warmth, professionalism and genuine care.
  • Provide a positive first and last impression for everyone visiting our venues.
  • Process new memberships, renewals and member information updates accurately and efficiently.
  • Check membership cards, visitor identification and sign-in requirements in accordance with registered club entry obligations.
  • Answer telephone, email and in-person enquiries, providing accurate information or directing customers to the appropriate department.
  • Assist with enquiries about dining, entertainment, promotions, events, golf, accommodation and other venue services.
  • Promote membership benefits, venue activities and upcoming events in a helpful and engaging way.
  • Respond to customer feedback and minor concerns with patience, empathy and professionalism.
  • Complete reception administration, cash handling and recordkeeping duties accurately.
  • Maintain the presentation and organisation of the reception area.
  • Work closely with Duty Managers, Security and other departments to provide a smooth and consistent customer experience.
  • Represent our values and community brand in every interaction.
What you’ll bring
  • A genuine passion for helping people and delivering excellent customer service.
  • A valid RSA and ARCG.
  • A friendly, confident and professional manner.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to remain calm, patient and helpful in a busy front-of-house environment.
  • Good attention to detail and confidence completing administrative tasks.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn membership and venue systems.
  • The ability to handle personal and membership information with discretion.
  • A reliable, positive and team-focused approach.
  • Availability to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
  • Previous reception, administration, hospitality, retail or customer service experience is desirable, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.
  • A commitment to creating a safe, respectful and welcoming environment for everyone.
Ready to be the face of our venues?

Bring your personality. Build your customer service career. Join a team that cares for its people and its community.

  • Shoalhaven Ex-Services Group is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences and abilities.
