Job summary

eShepherd is hiring a CloudOps Engineer to design, build and optimise scalable AWS infrastructure, supporting thousands of devices in remote locations. You will analyse performance, improve databases and automation, and shape multi-region platform architecture across Melbourne and North America.

You’ll work with software engineers, cloud specialists and product teams to ensure reliability and growth while embracing observability, incident response and DevSecOps practices.

Qualifications

• Experience managing and scaling production AWS environments.
• Strong MySQL performance tuning and database optimisation.
• Experience with containerised environments (ECS/EKS).
• Expertise in monitoring, alerting and incident management.
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
• Solid CI/CD automation experience.
• Programming or scripting in Python or Node.js.
• Ability to diagnose performance, reliability and scalability issues.
• Excellent communication across distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise scalable AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Analyse system performance, capacity and reliability at scale.
• Improve database performance, architecture and efficiency.
• Maintain Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines and deployment tooling.
