Job summary

Quanex is seeking a Cloud Systems Engineer to join our team and own critical cloud and on‑premises infrastructure initiatives. You will design, deploy, and maintain reliable systems, while collaborating with internal teams and external partners on major IT projects.

The role requires 5–7 years of Windows Server/Active Directory experience, Azure proficiency, and PowerShell scripting. Expect hands‑on ownership, strong documentation, and occasional travel to support business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; experience may substitute degree.
• 5–7 years of experience in Windows Server and Active Directory administration.
• Microsoft or other relevant IT certifications preferred.
• Experience administering public cloud environments, Azure preferred.
• Experience with PowerShell and other programming/scripting languages.
• Experience with Enterprise Identity Management using Azure.
• Strong LAN/WAN networking knowledge to support servers and AD.
• Experience with enterprise backups and disaster recovery strategies.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and maintain cloud and on‑premises infrastructure with emphasis on secure, reliable systems.
• Provide advanced technical support and manage ServiceNow incidents.
• Proactively monitor system performance and address issues.
• Perform root cause analysis on failed components and implement fixes.
• Design and implement system improvements and participate in major IT infrastructure projects.
• Produce clear technical documentation and knowledge materials.
• Collaborate with staff, contractors, and partners; travel up to 10% as needed.
