Amazon Web Services is seeking a System Development Engineer in Australia to own software services that run the AWS network within the region. You will design, build, deploy, monitor, and automate services across a large-scale cloud environment, collaborating with global teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

You will work across multiple languages, diagnose issues at code and system levels, and implement permanent fixes while minimizing human intervention.

Qualifications

• Experience programming in modern languages (Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust).
• Proficient with Linux/Unix systems and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to diagnose issues and implement long-term fixes across distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Own software services and platforms that keep AWS network running within the region and continuously reinvent them for reliability.
• Manage deployments, troubleshoot operational issues, and drive permanent automation to reduce recurring problems.
• Design and implement new components and services to improve operational efficiency for network engineers.
