Perpetual Wealth, based in Sydney CBD, is seeking a Cloud Network Engineer to manage cloud networking, security and SD‑WAN across distributed locations. The role involves configuring firewalls, monitoring traffic and collaborating with IT teams to ensure reliable, secure connectivity.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in Checkpoint, Netskope, Azure networking and Meraki SD‑WAN, with strong Linux/Windows expertise and BGP/OSPF routing knowledge.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in IT, preferably with a major in Networking.
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, Checkpoint CCSA, Checkpoint CCSE or Azure are a plus.
• Framework certifications such as ITIL, PRINCE2, COBIT, TOGAF or similar are highly desirable.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing Checkpoint firewalls, Netskope appliances, Azure networking, Citrix ADCs and SD‑WAN networks based on Meraki products.

• Deploy and manage SD-WAN network products, optimising connectivity and performance across distributed locations.
• Monitor and analyse network traffic, performance and security events, identifying and mitigating potential issues and vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network architectures that support business requirements and objectives.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, providing timely and effective support to end users and stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain accurate, complete network documentation, diagrams and configurations.
• Lead service lifecycle governance, maintaining network roadmaps and plans on behalf of the Technology Services Manager to ensure service lifecycle events are well managed.

About the Role

Join our dynamic team at Perpetual Wealth as a Cloud Network Engineer. You will bring a strong background in cloud-based networking concepts, technologies and solutions, with expertise in managing a variety of network security and optimisation tools. This is a crucial operations role supporting our network infrastructure, ensuring reliability, availability, security and performance.

• Configure and manage firewalls, appliances and other network devices to enforce security policies and optimise network traffic
• Deploy and manage SD-WAN network products, optimising connectivity and performance across distributed locations
• Monitor and analyse network traffic, performance and security events, identifying and mitigating potential issues and vulnerabilities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network architectures that support business requirements and objectives
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, providing timely and effective support to end users and stakeholders
• Implement and maintain network security controls and protocols to protect against cyber threats and unauthorised access
• Develop and maintain accurate, complete network documentation, diagrams and configurations
• Support projects to ensure network solutions align with network service strategies, frameworks, policies and practices
• Provide architecture oversight for key projects and initiatives
• Develop network artefacts for cloud environments (especially Microsoft)
• Participate in design forums and architecture governance, providing guidance to ensure solution designs are implemented correctly and standards are adhered to
• Lead service lifecycle governance, maintaining network roadmaps and plans on behalf of the Technology Services Manager to ensure service lifecycle events are well managed
• Collaborate with ITSM and DevOps SMEs to create and maintain definitions and a catalogue of network services

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

• A bachelor’s degree in IT, preferably with a major in Networking
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, Checkpoint CCSA, Checkpoint CCSE or Azure are a plus
• Framework certifications such as ITIL, PRINCE2, COBIT, TOGAF or similar are highly desirable
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing Checkpoint firewalls, Netskope appliances, Azure networking, Citrix ADCs and SD‑WAN networks based on Meraki products
• A strong understanding of cloud‑based networking concepts, architectures and technologies, including virtual networks, VPNs, load balancers and DNS
• Essential experience with Microsoft Azure; experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems
• Proficiency in network routing and switching protocols, including BGP, OSPF, VLANs and MPLS
• A solid understanding of network security principles and best practices, including encryption, authentication and access control
