Job summary

The Opportunity Hub UK Ltd in Liverpool is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Security Engineer to join a fast-moving cybersecurity startup. You will design and harden cloud architectures across AWS and Azure, and integrate security into CI/CD pipelines while performing threat modelling.

Based at our Liverpool base, this hybrid role offers equity, a learning budget, flexible hours, and a flat structure with direct access to decision-makers.

Qualifications

• Solid hands-on experience securing AWS or Azure environments in production.
• Working knowledge of IAM, network segmentation, encryption and key management.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Comfort scripting in Python or similar for automation and tooling.
• Clear communication skills. You'll need to explain risk to people who aren't security specialists.
• A genuine appetite for a startup pace, where priorities shift and you pick things up fast.

Responsibilities

• Designing and hardening secure cloud architectures across AWS and Azure environments.
• Building automated security controls into CI/CD pipelines so vulnerabilities get caught before deployment, not after.
• Running threat modelling and risk assessments on new infrastructure before it goes live.
• Investigating security incidents and alerts, then closing the root cause rather than just the symptom.
• Writing and maintaining infrastructure-as-code with security baked in from the first line.
• Working directly with engineering and product teams to keep security practical, not a bottleneck.
