Job summary

Leidos Australia is seeking a Cloud Engineer to design and deliver secure, scalable cloud environments across AWS, Azure and GCP. You will implement migration plans, automate deployments with Terraform, Ansible and CloudFormation, and ensure strong security postures for mission‑critical workloads.

Ideal candidates bring hands‑on cloud expertise, container experience with Docker/Kubernetes, and automation skills across Python, Bash and PowerShell, plus knowledge of cloud security and networking

Qualifications

• Hands‑on experience with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, and IAM.
• Expertise in tools like Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation for automated deployments and configuration management.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for deploying and managing containerised applications in cloud environments.
• Strong skills in Python, Bash, and PowerShell for automation, plus familiarity with languages like Java or Go for cloud‑native development.
• Understanding of cloud security best practices, VPC design, VPNs, load balancers, and compliance frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud environments that align with business needs.
• Oversee cloud resources (compute, storage, networking) across platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
• Plan and execute migration of applications and data from on‑premises systems to cloud platforms, ensuring minimal disruption.
• Develop scripts and workflows using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation to automate deployments and optimise resource usage.
• Implement robust security measures, monitor compliance, and collaborate with cybersecurity teams to protect cloud environments.
