Job summary

icare, a NSW-based insurance and care provider, is seeking a cloud-focused engineer to design and deliver secure, scalable cloud solutions across AWS and Azure. You will build automation and self-service tooling to empower delivery teams while improving platform reliability through monitoring and optimisation efforts.

You will collaborate with Architecture, Cyber Security and Delivery teams, contributing to cloud standards and roadmaps in a complex, regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting cloud or infrastructure in a complex enterprise setting.
• Strong capability in AWS or Azure, or similar platforms.
• Experience with automation and scripting to improve service delivery.
• Knowledge of infrastructure services, networking, IAM and security controls.

About the role

The systems and services you improve support important interactions for customers, providers, employers and employees across NSW. This is an opportunity to play a key role in icare's cloud-first transformation, helping shape modern AWS and Azure platforms that enable teams to deliver secure, reliable and scalable services. You'll work across cloud, infrastructure, networking and security domains, partnering with Architecture, Cyber Security and Delivery teams to create technology solutions that improve efficiency, resilience and customer outcomes. As part of a growing cloud capability, you'll have the opportunity to influence how platforms evolve while building your expertise in modern cloud engineering practices.

What you'll be working on

• Design and deliver secure, scalable cloud and infrastructure solutions across AWS and Azure environments
• Build automation, self-service capabilities and operational tooling that make it easier for delivery teams to innovate
• Improve platform reliability through monitoring, observability and continuous optimisation initiatives
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud, infrastructure, network and platform issues across enterprise environments
• Partner with Architecture, Cyber Security and delivery teams to implement modern cloud practices and secure-by-design solutions
• Contribute to cloud standards, technology roadmaps and infrastructure transformation programs
• Identify opportunities to enhance performance, resilience, scalability and operational efficiency across platforms
• Share knowledge and provide technical guidance to colleagues and delivery partners to uplift cloud capability across the organisation

What you'll bring

• Experience supporting cloud or infrastructure environments in a complex enterprise setting
• Strong capability in AWS, Azure or similar cloud platforms, with an interest in modern cloud architecture
• Experience with automation, scripting and operational technologies that improve service delivery and efficiency
• Knowledge of infrastructure services, networking, identity and access management, and security controls
• Ability to investigate, troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues across multiple technology domains
• Experience working collaboratively with technical stakeholders to deliver shared outcomes
• Confidence explaining technical concepts and recommendations to a range of audiences
• Experience within insurance, financial services, healthcare or similarly regulated environments will be highly regarded
