Job summary

Anglicare Sydney is looking for a Cloud Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team for a 6-month fixed-term opportunity. You will implement, manage and optimise Azure and Microsoft 365 environments, contribute to cloud transformation, and ensure secure, reliable services for the community.

You will work under the IT Infrastructure Manager, handling automation, security controls, and ongoing platform modernisation while coordinating with stakeholders and documenting processes.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated Cloud/Infrastructure Engineer experience.
• Strong hands-on Microsoft Azure experience.
• Experience managing Microsoft 365 environments (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, identity management and hybrid cloud.
• Experience implementing cloud security controls (MFA, Conditional Access).
• PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Relevant IT degree or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Implement, support and optimise cloud solutions across Microsoft Azure.
• Manage Azure infrastructure including VMs, storage, networking and services.
• Administer Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive).

• Provide level 2/3 support within agreed SLAs.

Cloud Engineer

Your opportunity

Reporting into the IT Infrastructure Manager, you'll be responsible for the implementation, management and optimisation of Anglicare's Azure and Microsoft 365 environments. You'll contribute to cloud transformation initiatives, strengthen security and compliance, and ensure our cloud services remain reliable, secure and fit for future growth.

With integrity and a service-focused mindset, you will:

• Implement, support and optimise cloud solutions across Microsoft Azure.
• Manage Azure infrastructure including virtual machines, storage, networking and platform services.
• Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive.
• Manage and support Microsoft Entra ID, hybrid identity solutions and conditional access policies.
• Monitor cloud performance, availability, capacity and costs, identifying opportunities for optimisation.
• Implement and maintain cloud security controls, compliance frameworks and governance standards.
• Develop automation solutions using PowerShell and cloud-native tooling.
• Support cloud migration projects and the ongoing modernisation of infrastructure platforms.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
• Provide level 2/3 support and resolve incidents and service requests within agreed service levels.

What you'll bring

You're a technically capable Cloud Engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, learning new technologies and working collaboratively to deliver secure, reliable and scalable solutions.

You will also need:

• Demonstrated experience working as a Cloud Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer or similar cloud-focused role.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure services and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience managing Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint and Teams.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, identity management and hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience implementing cloud security and compliance controls, including MFA and Conditional Access.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a related discipline.

Highly desirable

• Microsoft Azure certifications.
• Experience with Intune, Autopilot and endpoint management.
• Experience with cloud migration and transformation projects.
• Knowledge of ITIL service management practices.
• Experience working within large enterprise or complex environments.
