Job summary

Harmonise HR is seeking a Clinical Operations Manager (Veterinary) in NSW to oversee the clinical side of a busy veterinary hospital. This hands-on leadership role coordinates nursing and kennel teams and drives day-to-day operations from the morning huddle through the handover.

You will hold a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and have substantial senior nursing and people leadership experience. The role emphasizes management, workflow coordination, and delivering high-quality patient care

Qualifications

• You hold a Certificate IV (or above) in Veterinary Nursing or an equivalent qualification.
• Substantial experience in a senior veterinary nursing role with leadership experience.
• Move into a managerial role focused on clinical operations, people leadership and workflow coordination.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible leadership throughout the clinical day, ensuring people, patients, procedures and priorities remain coordinated.
• Lead the daily clinical huddle and maintain ownership of the hospital workflow whiteboard.
• Allocate nursing, kennel and patient-care responsibilities according to workload, capability and clinical priorities.
• Monitor workflow throughout the day, respond to pressure points and reallocate people or tasks when priorities change.
• Manage theatre and dental schedules within the hospital's agreed capacity.
• Track inpatient and active cases, follow up delays and ensure veterinary instructions are actioned and documented.
• Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and support to the nursing and kennel teams.
• Support induction, training, consistent clinical standards, policy compliance and ongoing improvement.
• Work collaboratively with the Practice Manager and wider leadership team to keep the hospital running safely and efficiently

Are you an experienced veterinary nurse with demonstrated leadership experience, ready to step into a dedicated management role and take ownership of the day-to-day clinical operations of a busy veterinary hospital?

This is not a nursing position. It is a hands‑on managerial role overseeing the clinical side of the business and working closely with the Practice Manager, Lead Veterinarian, Lead Receptionist and veterinary team.

About the role

You will provide visible leadership throughout the clinical day, ensuring people, patients, procedures and priorities remain coordinated. While you will bring strong veterinary nursing knowledge to the position, your primary focus will be management rather than filling a nursing roster.

About you

You lead by example and can coach, delegate and provide constructive feedback with warmth and clarity
