Job summary

Open Minds is seeking a Clinical Lead to oversee headspace services in Australia, coordinating the clinical team to uphold service quality and strong client outcomes for young people and families.

You will provide clinical leadership, guidance to clinicians, and oversee evidence-based assessment and intervention while supporting ongoing professional development and staff wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Tertiary level qualifications in clinical psychology, OT, nursing or related mental health fields.
• Current AHPRA registration or AASW eligibility.
• Current Driver Licence.
• Current Blue Card.
• Current National Police Check.
• Strong knowledge of the mental health system, policy, and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with health and psychosocial service providers.
• Participate in clinical quality improvement activities and training.
• Provide clinical leadership and expertise to headspace clinicians.
• Lead age-appropriate mental health assessment and intervention with high standards.
• Support staff and ensure strong client outcomes.

headspace is Australia's National Youth Mental Health Foundation, providing services across Australia, in metropolitan, regional, rural and remote areas, supporting young people and family to be mentally healthy and engaged in their communities.

We’re looking for a Clinical Lead to oversee and coordinate service provision while providing guidance and supervision to the clinical team. The role combines clinical excellence with leadership responsibilities, ensuring service quality, staff support, and strong client outcomes for our young people and their families.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders involved in health, mental health, and psychosocial service delivery.
• Participate in continuous clinical quality improvement activities, including training, and uphold the orgnisation’s Model Integrity Framework.
• Provide clinical leadership, consultation and expertise to headspace clinicians and other providers in the delivery of mental health care to young people and their families.
• Monitor and lead the ongoing delivery and improvement of a high standard of evidence-based, age-appropriate mental health assessment and intervention skills including appropriate clinical services across the mental health spectrum.

Requirements

• Tertiary level qualifications as a Registered Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Registered Nurse or other clinical disciplines related to mental health.
