Job summary

Open Minds is seeking a Mental Health Clinician for a Strathpine position, delivering individualised counselling to youth for up to 12 months and conducting clinical and risk assessments.

You will collaborate with the Clinical Lead and connect with community stakeholders to implement treatment plans and support recovery-oriented care, guided by best practice and current standards.

Qualifications

• Experience assessing, diagnosing, and providing evidence-based treatments for mental health disorders.
• Extensive experience fostering mental health and well-being, delivering inclusive therapeutic services with a recovery and strengths-based focus.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, crisis intervention planning, and implementing effective risk management strategies for consumers.
• Experience in time-limited counselling/psychological intervention for an episode of care reflecting 6-12 months of support.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Clinical Lead to provide individualised, evidence-based interventions for young people requiring up to 12 months of counselling support.
• Conduct clinical and risk assessments, implement treatment and management plans.
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders within the community to deliver holistic recovery oriented care.

headspace is Australia's National Youth Mental Health Foundation, providing services across Australia, in metropolitan, regional, rural and remote areas, supporting young people and family to be mentally healthy and engaged in their communities.

As a Mental Health Clinician, you'll collaborate with the Clinical Lead in Strathpine, providing individualised, evidence-based interventions for young people requiring up to 12 months of counselling support. You'll conduct clinical and risk assessments, implement treatment and management plans and work closely with internal and external stakeholders within the community to deliver holistic recovery orientated care.

About You

• Experience implementing time limited counselling/ psychological intervention for an episode of care reflecting 6-12 months support.
• Knowledge of the mental health system, government policies, legislation, and professional standards.

Requirements

• Minimum two years experience as a Mental Health Clinician
• Tertiary qualification in psychology, social work, OT, or related field
• AHPRA or AASW Registration
• Current Driver Licence
• Current Blue Card
• Current National Police Check.
• Knowledge of mental health systems, legislation, and standards
• Experience in assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment
