Qualifications

• Experience with diverse client populations including chronic conditions and post-injury rehab.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to motivate and educate clients.
• Proficiency with clinical exercise equipment and assessment tools.
• Excellent organization and time management; ability to manage multiple clients and records.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Desirable: prior clinical, hospital, or private practice experience.

Achieve Exercise Physiologists is seeking a passionate and dedicated Clinical Exercise Physiologist to join our team in Townsville, QLD. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering evidence-based exercise interventions and rehabilitation services to our clients. As a Clinical Exercise Physiologist, you will be at the forefront of improving client health outcomes through tailored exercise programming, assessment, and behaviour change support. This role is integral to our mission of helping individuals achieve their health and fitness goals through professional, scientifically-backed exercise physiology services.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive fitness assessments and exercise testing to evaluate clients' current physical capabilities and health status
• Design and implement individualised exercise programmes tailored to clients' specific health conditions, goals, and rehabilitation needs
• Deliver exercise instruction and supervision, ensuring clients perform exercises with correct technique and appropriate intensity
• Monitor and document client progress, adjusting exercise programmes based on response to treatment and changing circumstances
• Provide education and behaviour change counselling to support clients in adopting healthy lifestyle habits
• Liaise and collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physiotherapists, GPs, and allied health practitioners, to ensure coordinated care
• Maintain accurate and detailed client records in compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements
• Stay current with evidence-based practice and professional development in exercise physiology
• Contribute to a positive, professional clinic environment and support team members in delivering excellent client care

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology or a related discipline (Exercise Science, Sports Science, or equivalent)
• Current registration or eligibility for registration with Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist
• Sound knowledge of exercise prescription, biomechanics, and physiology, particularly as applied to rehabilitation and chronic disease management
• Experience working with diverse client populations, including those with chronic conditions, post-injury rehabilitation, or lifestyle-related health concerns
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and educate clients effectively
• Proficiency in using exercise equipment and assessment tools commonly employed in clinical practice
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and maintain detailed records
• A commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Desirable: Prior experience in a clinical, hospital, or private practice setting
