Job summary

Walloon Health Hub in Ipswich invites an Accredited Exercise Physiologist to join as a contractor. You'll lead engaging group fitness classes for diverse ages and abilities while delivering one-on-one clinical assessments and evidence-based exercise programs.

Work with a multidisciplinary team to track progress, adjust plans, and document clearly. You’ll enable safe exercise, promote healthy habits, and share expertise in case discussions within a supportive local community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology with ESSA accreditation (or eligibility).
• ABN and ability to invoice for services.
• Medicare provider number eligibility for this location.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Experience running group fitness with safe modifications for different abilities.
• Strong exercise prescription and rehabilitation knowledge.
• Ability to document clearly and maintain accurate notes.

About the Role

We're looking for an Accredited Exercise Physiologist to join our team on a contractor basis, and we'd love it to be you!

Group fitness is a big part of what we do here, so you'll spend a good chunk of your time leading fun, well-structured group classes for people of all ages, abilities and health needs. If you get a buzz from seeing a room full of clients working hard, having a laugh and making progress together, you'll fit right in.

Alongside your classes, you'll:

• Run one-on-one clinical assessments and create evidence-based exercise programs for clients with chronic conditions and rehab needs
• Track client progress and fine-tune their plans in collaboration with our other health professionals
• Help clients build confidence with safe exercise technique, healthy lifestyle habits and self-management strategies
• Keep clear, accurate clinical notes
• Share ideas and expertise in our multidisciplinary case discussions

What You'll Need

• A current ABN (you'll invoice the hub for your services)
• A tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology and current ESSA accreditation (or eligibility for accreditation)
• A Medicare provider number, or eligibility to get one for this location
• Current professional indemnity and public liability insurance
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Experience in, and enthusiasm for, running group fitness classes with safe modifications for different abilities
• Solid skills in exercise prescription and rehabilitation
• Up-to-date knowledge of clinical guidelines for chronic disease management and musculoskeletal rehab
• Good organisation and documentation skills, including using clinical software
• Great communication skills and a warm, team-player attitude

Bonus Points For

• Reformer Pilates experience or training, or a willingness to complete Reformer Pilates training
• Experience with Medicare (CDM), DVA, NDIS or WorkCover clients
