Job summary

Epworth HealthCare in Melbourne seeks a Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist to lead an organisation-wide CDI program. You will leverage your clinical nursing background to improve information capture for patient safety, quality of care and hospital reimbursement.

You will build relationships with clinicians, HIS teams and Health Fund stakeholders to sustain improvements and drive cultural change within an acute care setting.

Qualifications

• Current nursing registration with AHPRA.
• Experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• Ability to lead change and influence clinical staff.
• Strong relationships with clinicians and HIS teams.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-AM coding and clinical documentation standards is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to improve clinical documentation and coding accuracy.
• Develop relationships with clinicians to enable cultural change.
• Collaborate with Health Information Services to drive coding efficiencies.
• Monitor data to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Produce reports on outcomes of CDI activities.
