Candor Recruitment presents an opportunity for a Client Manager in Public Practice to lead a portfolio of clients in a local Sutherland accounting firm. You will oversee accounting, taxation compliance and advisory services, coordinating with directors and a broader team on a range of client matters.

You will mentor and delegate work to offshore teams, build strong client relationships, and contribute to firm growth with flexible hours and hybrid arrangements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in public practice accounting.
• CA or CPA qualification, or progress towards completion.
• Experience managing a client portfolio and taking ownership of deliverables and deadlines.
• Proficiency in Xero and MYOB across multiple systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of clients and oversee accounting, tax compliance and business advisory.
• Assist directors with restructures, sales and acquisitions and other projects.
• Prepare and review financial statements and tax returns for various entities.
• Provide practical business and tax advice to help clients achieve objectives.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships as the main point of contact.
• Conduct client meetings to discuss financial performance and opportunities for value-add.
• Coordinate and review offshore work for accuracy and timeliness.

Client Manager - Public Practice (Sutherland)

Our Clients

We’re partnering with a successful and local Sutherland accounting firm (10+ Staff) seeking a capable Manager to join its team. Working with a diverse portfolio of businesses, investors and individuals, you’ll take ownership of client relationships, oversee compliance and provide value-adding business advisory services.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced public practice accountant who enjoys working closely with clients, mentoring and delegating work to offshore teams, and contributing to the growth of a progressive firm.

We have flexible hours and hybrid working arrangements and no timesheets.

About the Role

As Client Manager, you’ll manage your own portfolio of clients, overseeing all aspects of accounting, taxation compliance and business advisory. You’ll work closely with the Directors and wider team on a range of client matters, from day-to-day compliance through to more complex business transactions and advisory projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, overseeing all aspects of accounting, taxation compliance and business advisory across a variety of entity structures.
• Assist directors with business restructures, business sales and acquisitions, and a variety of other projects
• Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns and other compliance requirements for companies, trusts, partnerships, individuals and other entities.
• Provide practical business and taxation advice to help clients manage their affairs and achieve their commercial objectives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, acting as a trusted point of contact for their accounting and advisory needs.
• Conduct client meetings, discuss financial performance and identify opportunities to provide additional value and support.
• Coordinate, delegate and review work completed by offshore teams, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and timely delivery.

About You

• 3+ years experience in public practice accounting
• CA or CPA qualification, or progress towards completion, will be highly regarded.
• Experience managing a client portfolio and taking ownership of client deliverables and deadlines.
• Proficiency in Xero and MYOB, with the ability to work across different accounting systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to liaise directly with clients and business owners.
