Job summary

Catering Industries Pty Ltd is seeking a hands-on Cleaning and Laundry Operations Support to assist aged care facilities across Melbourne. You’ll work with Area Managers to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming environments for residents, with travel between sites and weekend coverage as needed.

The role offers part-time to casual hours, with occasional overnight stays and weekend shifts, plus a staff benefits program. Driver’s license and police check are required.

Qualifications

• Preferred 2 years’ experience in a similar operational or support role.
• Aged care cleaning and laundry experience preferred.
• Strong practical cleaning knowledge, including carpet cleaning and floor scrubbing equipment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
• Ability to work independently across multiple sites.
• Ability to follow schedules, policies, procedures, and safety documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support to Area Managers and Area Supervisors across multiple aged care sites.
• Undertake regular cleaning duties to support sites as required, including carpet cleaning and floor scrubbing.
• Support the delivery of cleaning and laundry services in line with scopes of work, schedules, and quality standards.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new team members.
• Train, mentor, and motivate staff as directed.
• Send daily task and activity reports to the Area Manager.
• Assist with quality audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Ensure safe use of chemicals in accordance with Catering Industries Health & Safety Manuals and SDS requirements.
• Support compliance with Accreditation, health and safety, and infection control requirements.
• Maintain clear and professional communication with site teams and management.

Key Details

• Part time to Casual role with Monday to Friday shifts

• Occasional weekend and night shifts

• Regular travel between sites (vehicle + fuel card included)

• Weekend work paid at penalty rates

• Occasional overnight stays (accommodation provided)

• Current Australian Driver’s License required

• Federal Police Check required (or willingness to obtain)

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support to Area Managers and Area Supervisors across multiple aged care sites

  • General cleaning duties

  • Carpet cleaning and floor scrubbing

  • Detail and recovery clean when required
