Job summary

St Patrick's Primary School, Victoria, seeks graduates and qualified teachers who share a commitment to Catholic education. Qualifications

  • Understanding and commitment to Catholic identity and mission.
  • Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration (or eligible).
  • Accreditation to teach Religious Education.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Victorian Curriculum and AITSL standards.
  • Experience fostering safe, positive classrooms.
  • Experience collaborating with colleagues in planning, instruction and assessment.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of literacy programs and maths instruction.
  • Apply explicit teaching and structured literacy approaches.

  • Actively participate in St. Patrick's Professional Learning Community and work closely with colleagues
  • Display a sound understanding of evidence based Literacy programs and contemporary teaching approaches to Mathematics
  • Demonstrate knowledge about explicit teaching and structured literacy
  • Monitor and assess learners using data to plan for future success
  • Understand how learners learn and how best to meet their needs
  • Foster a safe and challenging learning environment that truly makes a difference for each student

Key Selection Criteria
  • Understanding and Commitment to Catholic Identity and Mission;
  • Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration (or be eligible for registration);
  • A current or be willing to obtain an Accreditation to teach Religious Education Certificate;
  • Demonstrated high-level knowledge of Victorian Curriculum and the AITSL standards with best practice, evidence-based approaches to teaching and learning;
  • Evidence of effective strategies for fostering a safe and positive classroom environment;
  • Experience collaborating effectively with colleagues in planning, instruction, and assessment.
