Job summary

Sts Peter and Paul Primary School in Canberra’s inner south seeks a dedicated Classroom Support Assistant to work with teachers to foster inclusive learning and student participation. This is a temporary role covering parental leave and will return to the incumbent under Fair Work Act provisions.

The position is part-time (55 hours per fortnight) with a salary range around $75,935 FTE plus super, and is offered through Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Education Limited (CACGEL).

Qualifications

• ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) clearance.
• Certificate III in School-based Education Support or be undertaking an ITE program.
• Accreditation in accordance with Work Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn policy.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers to create an inclusive learning environment for all students.
• Assist students with diverse learning needs to progress academically, socially and independently.
• Encourage confident engagement in classroom life and school activities.

Education

Certificate III in School-based Education Support or be undertaking an Initial Teacher Education (ITE) program

About The Role

The Classroom Support Assistant plays an important role in supporting teachers to create an inclusive learning environment where all students can participate fully in classroom activities. Working with students with diverse learning needs, the position fosters academic progress, social development, independence, and confident engagement in school life.

This appointment is temporary as it is to replace an employee who is on parental leave and the incumbent is entitled to return to work early in accordance with the Fair Work Act 2009.
