Job summary

Northern Beaches Council is seeking a Claims Officer on a permanent, full-time basis (35 hours per week) within the Governance & Assurance Services unit. The role focuses on arranging insurance coverage for the Council and managing public liability claims to achieve fair outcomes for all parties.

Successful candidates will investigate and provide detailed information to internal and external stakeholders including the Chief Executive Team and Councillors.

Title: Claims Officer, Permanent - Full-time Role, 35 hours per week

Salary Range: $96,309.15 to $111,927.21 per annum + super (subject to skills and experience)

Our opportunity:

1. Assisting in the annual placement of Council’s insurance to ensure the organisation has appropriate coverage.
2. Managing and determining public liability claims against Council to ensure a fair and equitable outcome for all parties.
3. Investigating and providing supporting information to all internal and external stakeholders including the Chief Executive Team and Councillors.

About you:

We’re looking for a adaptable professional with experience investigating complex matters to join our team. You will bring attention to detail, an intuitive mindset and excellent organisational skills. Previous knowledge of the local government sector and demonstrated experience using core Council systems would be advantageous.
