Job summary

Northern Beaches Council is seeking a dedicated Claims Officer to join the Governance & Assurance Services team in a permanent full-time role (35 hours/week). The role focuses on arranging annual insurance placements and managing public liability claims while providing clear information to internal and external stakeholders.

Ideal candidates will have experience investigating complex matters, strong attention to detail, and excellent organisational skills.

Qualifications

• Experience investigating complex matters and strong attention to detail.

• Knowledge of local government sector advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist in annual placement of Council’s insurance to ensure appropriate coverage.
• Manage and determine public liability claims against Council for fair outcomes.
• Investigate and provide supporting information to internal and external stakeholders including CEO and Councillors.

Title: Claims Officer,Permanent - Full-time Role, 35hours per week

Salary Range: $96,309.15 to $111,927.21 per annum + super (subject to skills and experience)

Our opportunity

The key focus areas of this role include:
1) Assisting in the annual placement of Council’s insurance to ensure the organisation has appropriate coverage.
2) Managing and determining public liability claims against Council to ensure a fair and equitable outcome for all parties.
3) Investigating and providing supporting information to all internal and external stakeholders including the Chief Executive Team and Councillors.

About you

We’re looking for a adaptable professional with experience investigating complex matters to join our team. You will bring attention to detail, an intuitive mindset and excellent organisational skills. Previous knowledge of the local government sector and demonstrated experience using core Council systems would be advantageous.
