Job summary

Northern Beaches Council is offering a permanent full-time Claims Officer role (35 hours per week) within the Governance & Assurance Services unit on the Northern Beaches, NSW. The position contributes to insurance placement and the fair handling of public liability claims while engaging with the CEO and Councillors as part of routine investigations.

Applicants should bring strong attention to detail and organisational skills; prior local government experience and familiarity with council

• Knowledge of the local government sector and familiarity with core Council systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the annual placement of Council’s insurance to ensure appropriate coverage.
• Managing and determining public liability claims against Council to ensure a fair outcome for all parties.
• Investigating and providing supporting information to internal and external stakeholders including the Chief Executive Team and Councillors.

Salary Range: $96,309.15 to $111,927.21 per annum + super (subject to skills and experience)

We’re looking for a adaptable professional with experience investigating complex matters to join our team. You will bring attention to detail, an intuitive mindset and excellent organisational skills. Previous knowledge of the local government sector and demonstrated experience using core Council systems would be advantageous.
