Job summary

Northern Beaches Council is seeking a Claims Officer (Permanent - Full-time) to join the Governance & Assurance Services unit. The role is 35 hours per week with a salary range of AU$96,309.15 to AU$111,927.21 per year plus super, dependent on skills and experience.

You will investigate public liability claims, assist in annual insurance placement to ensure appropriate cover, and provide information to the Chief Executive Team, Councillors and other stakeholders as needed.

• Experience investigating complex matters.
• Knowledge of local government sector advantageous.

Our opportunity:

The key focus areas of this role include:

1. 1) Assisting in the annual placement of Council's insurance to ensure the organisation has appropriate coverage.
2. 2) Managing and determining public liability claims against Council to ensure a fair and equitable outcome for all parties.
3. 3) Investigating and providing supporting information to all internal and external stakeholders including the Chief Executive Team and Councillors.

About you:

We're looking for a adaptable professional with experience investigating complex matters to join our team. You will bring attention to detail, an intuitive mindset and excellent organisational skills. Previous knowledge of the local government sector and demonstrated experience using core Council systems would be advantageous.
